Empathy on Wheels – An Inclusive Cricket Match that Touched Hearts

On December 3rd, 2024, Dreamweaver Event had the honor of supporting one of the most emotional and inspiring events we’ve ever been part of — the “Empathy on Wheels” Inclusive Cricket Match, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Held at Dhanmondi Society Field, this powerful event aimed to raise awareness, promote empathy, and celebrate the strength and resilience of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bangladesh.

Our Role: Creating a Meaningful Experience

In partnership with Khelbei Bangladesh, the official event management firm, Dreamweaver provided full technical and Branding support, ensuring that the field and environment reflected the event’s values of unity, inclusivity, and dignity.

Our Contributions Included:

  • On-Field Branding – Custom-designed field visuals and banners showcasing messages of inclusivity and support.

  • Photo Booths – Interactive spaces that captured memories and encouraged attendees to spread the message of empathy.

  • Sound & Music – Uplifting music and professional sound systems created the perfect atmosphere to celebrate the spirit of the match.

We are deeply thankful to Mr. Kazi Sabir for his trust and collaboration in making this event a success. It was a privilege to work alongside a team so dedicated to social change.

A Match Beyond the Scoreboard

The event featured the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team, led by Mohammad Mohasin, playing side by side with national cricket stars including:

  • Nazmul Hossain Shanto – Captain, Bangladesh National Team

  • Shahriar Nafees, Javed Omar Bemil, Salma Khatun, and Hannan Sarkar – former national team legends

In an extraordinary show of solidarity, these renowned cricketers played seated on wheelchairs, offering a moving display of empathy and connection with the disabled community.

Why It Matters to Us

At Dreamweaver, we believe that events have the power to drive change, tell stories, and touch lives. Supporting “Empathy on Wheels” was more than a project — it was a privilege, a reminder of our shared humanity, and a proud moment in our journey.
